Using Transcripter

Transcripter turns a YouTube link into a transcript and an AI-generated summary. Viewing and creating transcripts doesn't require an account; signing in with Google gets you a saved history and, on paid plans, higher limits. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Paid plans are billed monthly (or annually, where offered) through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel or manage your subscription any time from the billing portal, linked from your account — cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for. We don't provide prorated refunds for partial months; email us if something about a charge seems wrong and we'll sort it out.

Your content

You keep ownership of the transcripts and summaries generated from videos you submit. By using Transcripter you give us permission to store them and to serve them back to you — and, for a public share link, to anyone who has that link — which is how the sharing feature works. We don't sell your transcripts or use them to train models.

Source video content

Transcripter processes publicly available YouTube videos at your direction. We don't claim any ownership over the underlying video, its transcript, or the channel's content, and downloading or redistributing a video is your responsibility to do in line with YouTube's own terms and applicable copyright law. Don't use Transcripter to infringe someone else's rights.

Acceptable use

Don't use Transcripter to process content you don't have the right to access, to abuse the service (e.g. automated bulk scraping outside normal use), or to violate any law. We can suspend or terminate accounts that do.

AI summaries can be wrong

Summaries are AI-generated and may misrepresent, omit, or misattribute what's actually said in a video. Don't treat a summary as a substitute for watching or reading the source when accuracy matters.

No warranty

Transcripter is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that transcription will succeed for every video (some videos have no captions available, or block automated access).

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Transcripter isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Continuing to use Transcripter after an update means you accept the new terms.
